Happy (early) Halloween

We celebrated Halloween early this year with the annual party at the Meeks' home. I wasn't sure how Anna Kate would do with the costume, but she loved it! She wore it the whole night! We got a few pictures of her on the front porch before we left.Pumpkin love

The back of her costume (I love the tail!)

We had a great time and great food!

Anna Kate found Aunt Lizzie's jewels and was entertained the rest of the night!

On another note, AK has become quite the helper!!

"Thank You" and a ponytail!

We were at Panera after church this morning and when the lady gave us our food I said "Thank You" and right after AK shouted "Thank You!" She has said it all day long! Hopefully she will continue to learn and use manners!

Anna Kate's hair is long enough to put in a ponytail on top of her head!

14 months old

Anna Kate is 14 months old today! It's impossible to get a good "chair picture" of her anymore. She will not sit still for very long and then chair is getting borderline dangerous! Ha! This picture shows so much of her big personality!

Anna Kate is doing so many new things each day!
  • Size 12-18 month clothes
  • Size 3 or 4 shoe
  • Size 3/4 diapers
  • In to everything!!!
  • Such a climber/daredevil.....she is afraid of nothing!
  • Talking more each day. Most words she tries to repeat she will make at least the beginning sound. She does know hey, bye, uh-oh, mama, dada, pa, up, down, bath, bar (cereal bar), shoes, sock, her absolute favorite is NO!
  • She knows a lot of body parts (hair, belly, feet, eyes, ears, nose, mouth)
  • Loves to be sung to and watch Baby Einstein
  • Barney is her all time favorite right now
  • Her favorite toy is still a book
  • Still loves bathtime!

We went to Nanny's church for homecoming this past Sunday. The service was very nice. After we ate we took AK to the playground with Jackson and Abby. It was very chilly outside so we couldn't stay long but they had a great time running around!

Fun Weekend

We had a busy but fun weekend. Bryant and I both went to the ECU football game (although he was working). We had a great time!Taylor, Elizabeth, Me, Melissa

After church on Sunday we met the Meeks' at the park. AK had a ball with Connor. I asked her on the way there if she was ready to play with Connor and she grinned really big and said "Con?!" It was precious!

We still love those swings :)

Swinging with Connor (AK is tickled with herself!)

Driving the boat

Sliding....

Singing "Skinamarink" with Con!

Kissin' on the tailgate!

I forgot to post that we celebrated my 28th birthday on September 16th. We went to dinner at our favorite place.....Rucker John's. Of course Anna Kate was great entertainment!

Socks

Anna Kate is constantly cracking us up doing something! That girl is a mess! She has a new found love for socks.......so, when daddy got home the other night she decided she wanted to wear his socks. She wore them for a long time and was very tickled with herself!
She is too funny!

On another note, I kept this dress AK wore last fall in her closet. You can't really tell in the picture below that it is a dress because she is covered up....

...But what used to be a dress is now a shirt!!

Birthdays, Irene, and Spaghetti

I know this title is so random but I have been so behind on blogging lately that I have to put a bunch of things in one post! We celebrated Bryant's 29th Birthday on Aug. 25. We went to Rucker John's the night before with our friends to celebrate. AK was very hungry to say the least. She ate and ate and ate!!!

Enjoying a cracker. It's so nice to be able to hand her something that she can eat 'whole' and not have to break it up into tiny pieces. She is getting so big!!!

Eating the birthday brownie with Daddy!

Major meltdown as we were leaving.....the result of no afternoon nap!

The weekend following Bryant's birthday we braced ourselves for hurricane Irene. It was a lot worse around here than everyone thought it was going to be. We lost power early Saturday morning but thankfully got it back Saturday night. We know a lot of people who were not that lucky!!

AK watching the storm

Entertaining herself riding her bike around the house

Our little climber has learned how to put things near the things she wants to get on to make her taller!!

The other night Bryant's grandmother cooked spaghetti and AK loved it!

Of course at the end of the meal she rubbed it all in her hair! We took her right out of the chair and put her in the tub!!
