Corban is 7 and Spring Break!

In the midst of Covid-19 we celebrated Corban's 7th birthday! We were supposed to be in Disney World and a cruise to the Bahamas but we thankfully have been able to postpone those plans. We made the day as fun as possible with a sweet video from his friends and family, a surprise birthday parade, lots of gifts, a homemade double layer cookie cake and pizza for dinner, and a chance to watch the new Trolls movie!

Corban at 7:
  • Love all things sports! So far you have played football, soccer, basketball and baseball
  • Have a bit of a temper when you lose at home. This is something we are working on (Rage Monster!!)
  • Love to be outside!
  • Love school! You are very good at math and reading but really enjoy math a lot more. You really do not like to write or draw but your teachers have been very patient with you ha!
  • AK is your best friend but you love playing with your cousins, school friends and neighborhood buddies
  • Not really into any certain toys but love video games and doing anything outside!
  • Very neat and organized - always puts things back where they belong
  • We love you so much!!

His grandparents and great-grandparents gave him a new bike! It was perfect timing because we have been on several bike rides!

While we were outside playing......a surprise birthday parade drove by! Several sweet friends drove by honking horns, throwing candy and gifts and yelling "Happy Birthday!!"

Something we did this year because of quarantine that ended up being so much fun was making Corban's birthday cake together. He wanted a double layer cookie cake so we baked to BIG cookies by pressing out cookie dough into circles. We made homemade buttercream frosting to go between them and then we colored some of the icing for the decorations.....

If you have ever watched the show "Nailed It!" on Netflix we would have won! haha! The cake may not be pretty but it tasted SO good!!

Mimi and Papa sang "Happy Birthday" on FaceTime....

Lots of cards.....
 Yummy Pizza!

We used On Demand to get the new Trolls movie as a birthday surprise to end the night!

Corban's birthday fell on Good Friday this year. On Saturday we did a little egg hunt with the kids. They really enjoyed it! The eggs had money, candy, earrings and one very special surprise!

Corbs read faster than sissy!

Dude Perfect Tour show in June!!!!

Easter Sunday looked very different this year but we still celebrated our risen Savior!!

The Easter Bunny came!

We had our worship service online....

The kids had a lesson too....

I was out walking one morning recently and saw this beautiful cross one of our neighbors had in their yard.....Everyday when I walk no matter if it's the morning or afternoon I hear the same song everyday! It's by Big Daddy Weave and it's called "I Know." Check it out on youtube! I do believe that God can speak to us through songs and other unexpected ways!

We did get spring break even though we are still out of school......we enjoyed lazy days at home doing lots of baking, playing board games and playing outside. We did venture out for a few bike rides on the greenway!

We went and picked strawberries.....

And I submitted my National Board renewal!!!!! Praise!

Beau still enjoying quarantine life....
